Olga Tanon

Absolutely irresistible. Great danceable music, nice smooth voice, and catchy lyrics--what more can you ask for?

Recommeded CD: Pintame
The hit "Suavemente" successfully crossed over, and the new hit "Pintame" was huge. The CD has more than a few great songs, and I'm definitely going to snatch up his records from now on!

Grupo Limite

This is the best group I have heard. While they qualify as Nortenos or Tejanos, their sound is very up-to-date and romantic and their latest album successfully branches out into several genres, such as country, salsa.

Recommeded CD: De Corazon Al Corazon
Why: It's their best yet. Includes some Salsa, Mexican, and Tejano with the heart and soul we have come to expect from this group.

Alejandro Fernandez

The best of the romantics. Sophisticated music and an excellent voice.

Mariachi Reyna de los Angeles

My new all-time favorite Mariachi band. A plus-- it's one of the first all-female bands! The quality of music is superior to many I've heard, and the lead singer has the most beautiful voice. Listening to them is a real pleasure.

Recommeded CD: Tuya
Why: It's their only one, and it's going to be hard to beat.

Recommeded CD: Me Estoy Enamorando
Why: It's not his latest, but it's still my favorite with non-stop romantic ballads.

Graciela Beltran

She has one of the best voices in the business. Her style is very traditional, however, and may not appeal to everyone.

Recommeded CD: Tuya
Why: I personally prefer the more heartfelt mariachi than the banda music, and this one delivers.

Olga Tanon

If you like merengue but also want upbeat, tropical dance music mixed in with some slow ballads, I would recommend Olga. Until recently considered the Merengue Queen, she's been heading towards pop and romantic music.

Recommeded CD: Te Acordaras De Mi
Why: "Tu Amor" is a catchy, dancable salsa hit. Also mixed in are ballads.
